LIVE LIKE LOU FOUNDATION NAMED TITLE SPONSOR FOR LAS VEGAS COLLEGE BASEBALL CLASSIC

Las Vegas – Peak Events, LLC, is proud to announce that its premiere early-season tournament at Las Vegas Ballpark is now dubbed the Live Like Lou Las Vegas College Baseball Classic, reflecting a new multi-year partnership with the Live Like Lou Foundation. The tournament is entering its third year at the home of the Athletics’ Triple-A affiliate, the Las Vegas Aviators.

The 2026 event will be held Feb. 27-March 1, 2026. The participating teams will be unveiled on Sept. 10, 2025.

The Live Like Lou Foundation, named for Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig, is a national nonprofit with a vision to leave ALS better than we found it. Inspired by Gehrig’s example of courage, determination, and gratitude, Live Like Lou supports people living with ALS through volunteer service, financial grants, and college scholarships for dependents in ALS families; funds early-career scientists studying ALS; and raises national awareness for Lou Gehrig’s disease. The foundation honors Lou’s legacy as we inspire hope for a world where ALS is no longer fatal. Learn more at livelikelou.org.

Honoring Gehrig's legacy, the Live Like Lou Foundation is launching an effort to impact thousands of families living with ALS through this Las Vegas College Baseball Classic sponsorship.

“Lou Gehrig’s legacy took shape as a college baseball player at Columbia. We’re honored to bring together outstanding college athletes in support of a meaningful cause that makes a lasting impact,” Wendy Faust, Executive Director of the Live Like Lou Foundation, said. “We believe in the power of sports to build awareness and inspire action. By supporting the Las Vegas College Baseball Classic, we aim to honor Lou Gehrig’s courageous spirit and rally communities to help leave ALS better than we found it.”

In Las Vegas, it is conservatively estimated that at least 225 people are currently living with ALS. ALS does not happen to just one person; it deeply affects entire families. With the costs of care often exceeding $200,000 per year, families carry the emotional, financial, and physical burdens for years or even decades. For this reason, the Live Like Lou Foundation is committed to serving the whole family. In Las Vegas, the foundation has supported multiple families through our volunteer program and recently awarded a Quality-of-Life Grant to help ease some of these significant challenges. Programs are designed to provide meaningful care, encouragement, and support to the ALS community in Vegas and throughout North America. “Partnering with the Live Like Lou Foundation is a perfect fit for Peak Events and this tournament,” said Nathan Wooldridge, Peak Events LLC Vice President. “We work to present the best college baseball experiences in the nation for student-athletes, coaches, and fans. The foundation honors the legacy of one of the game’s best players. Together, we can impact even more families living with ALS.”

In 2025, the tournament’s field included Texas, Texas Tech, Illinois, and Washington. The Longhorns earned the Classic’s championship belt, sweeping their way through three opponents in a round-robin format by a combined score of 35-20. Texas shortstop Jalin Flores was named MVP.

Advanced 2026 Live Like Lou Las Vegas College Baseball Classic tickets will be available Sept. 10 at livelikeloulasvegascbc.com.
